The Odisha Branch of the Youth for Equality on Sunday protested against the reservation system at the lower PMG here on Sunday. It pointed out that the quota and reservation, which was given for 10 years, is continuing for 65 long years.

The failure of the quota system is evident in Government schools and hospitals, where people are reluctant to seek service, said workers of the India against Reservation (IAR), All India Equality Forum Youth for Equality, Odisha. However, today one of the major roadblocks to the equality is the reservation system, the members of the organisations said.

They said the reservation system also divides the society leading to discrimination and conflicts between different sections. Due to this, India cannot be a developed country forever, said the

members.

“Our talents will continue to migrate to the USA and Canada for such cheap politics of the Government,” they added.

Social worker and coordinator of IAR Shisir Mohapatra said right talents should be placed in right places; otherwise the situation of brain drain would continue.

President of Akhila Bharatitya Samanata Mancha, Naya, Bhagirathi Mahasuar thanked all the protesters and urged to intensify their move against the reservation

system.

To abolish caste-based reservation completely in politics, education, promotion and employment, the Youth for Equality, Akhila Bharatitya Samanata Mancha, Naya, in association with the IAR and many students participated in the protest meeting.
