Despite police enforcing the Covid-19 guidelines strictly in the State capital city, many callous people are still crowding markets, not maintaining social distancing and also not wearing masks.In a bid to check the seriousness among the residents, Commissioner of Police (CP) Sudhanshu Sarangi made a surprise visit to the Unit-2 Market Building here on Saturday to check whether guidelines are being followed or not in busy market places.
The Commissioner conducted the inspection along with city DCP Umashankar Dash.During the inspection, the Commissioner Sarangi warned that police would be forced to shut the shops if the restrictions are not followed properly.The warning came in the background of rising where more than 350 to 450 new cases are being reported daily and the local contacts are outnumbering the quarantine cases.
