Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday said that the BJP, if voted to power in Odisha in the 2019 general elections, would provide loans up to Rs 25,000 at zero per cent interest to women to do business and become self-reliant.
Pradhan said this while attending the BJP’s ‘Jana Paramarsha Padyatra’ and ‘Jabab Maguchhi Odisha’ campaign at Jagannath Prasad under Bhanjanagar area in Ganjam district on the day. He alleged that the Naveen Patnaik Government has stood on the way of Odisha’s development.
“The State Government has failed to provide drinking water to people, teachers to schools, doctors to hospitals and irrigation facility for cultivation during the last 19 years. It is always engaged in self-propagation,” alleged Pradhan.
He alleged that famers are being forced to sell paddy at Rs 1,000 to 1,200 due to faulty system in Odisha while the Narendra Modi Government has fixed MSP at Rs 1,750. “After failing to provide support to farmers, they (BJD) are going to Delhi to shed crocodile tears,” said Pradhan.
He said the Modi Government has taken all steps to provide pipe water to each household in Ganjam district in coming five years.
Pradhan further alleged that the State Government is hoodwinking people regarding the number of SHGs operating in the State. “The Government said 5,23 lakh SHGs were formed last year. Thereafter, they said the State had 8.23 lakh SHGs. Yesterday, the Government announced zero-percent loan for 6 lakh SHGs. Where did the rest 2 lakh SHGs go,” wanted to know Pradhan.
