Will fight for him, says wife Mili

It is my prime duty as wife to give legal assistance to my husband. I’ll fight for him till he returns to the mainstream, said  Subhashree alias Mili Panda, wife of Sabyasachi Panda on Friday after his arrest late on Thursday night.

Mili said she would fight legally in the court to get Sabyasachi released from jail. She claimed that it would be very difficult to prove that her husband was involved in so many murder cases. Her husband was not behind in any of the cases slapped against him, she added.

“If several politicians having multiple criminal cases against them lead a normal life in the society, my husband, who is a revolutionist, can live in peace,” she remarked.

“One can find out from the Election Commission that many of our elected MlAs and Ministers have murder cases pending against them,” said Mili, adding, “If they can become MlAs and even Ministers, why not my husbandIJ”

She refuted the reports that Sabyasachi in fact surrendered to the police instead of being arrested. “He is a revolutionary and a true revolutionary never surrenders,” she said, adding, “Surrender amounts to suicide.”

Demanding that her husband be immediately produced in court, she said his arrest is the first step towards his return to the mainstream. She stated that her family had been trying to persuade him to join the mainstream for the last two years.

She accused the State Government of reneging on its commitment to bring her husband into the mainstream.

On future course of action of Sabyasachi, Mili observed that her husband, who writes well, would continue his revolution through writing in the jail. “Revolution cannot only be brought by muzzle of a gun but also by might of pen,” she added.
