Former Union Minister and newly-elected BJP Sundargarh MP Jual Oram on Sunday said he would work for development of Odisha and fight for the rights of its people.
Oram said this after being felicitated by the BJP State office-bearers at a special meeting held under chairmanship of president KV Singh Deo here.Stating that the BJP got 26 lakh more votes this time in comparison to the 2009 elections in the State, Oram said he would continue to work to strengthen people’s faith in the BJP.“The BJP’s developmental work in the State would be certainly marked in the coming days. The work that I alone will do for the State’s development can’t be done by the BJD’s 20 MPs,” Oram asserted.
Oram earns the credit of being the lone BJP candidate to win a lok Sabha seat in the State in the 2014 elections.
