Will disrupt Ravenshaw functioning: Students

Published on:

The Ravenshaw Students’ Action Committee (RSAC) said it would disrupt functioning of the Ravenshaw University if the authorities’ decision of stopping direct elections to Student’s Union is not withdrawn soon.

Addressing a Press meet here on Saturday, RSAC president lalat Keshari Das said Students’ Unions have many times brought to fore different kinds of corruptions, partisan attitude and all illegal activities in the college. The college authorities’ have taken the decision to stop former Students’ Union in an aim to cover their weaknesses, he said.

“The authorities have divided the university into nine schools and to conduct Students’ Council election instead of Students’ Union election.

With this, the authorities have adopted a ‘divide and rule’ policy to impose its unitary decisions on the students,” alleged the RSAC.

The RSAC threatened to disrupt the functioning of the university if the decision is not rolled back and would intensify their stir in coming days.
