Propagation of Biju Patnaik’s name by fore-naming Government schemes, roads and educational institutions seems to have disturbed many. This was evident as Puri-based rights activist Jayanta Kumar Das has urged the Government to name roads, streets and schemes after people who have sacrificed their lives for the country instead of the name of politicians.
“The present Government in Odisha is in a habit of using late Biju Patnaik’s name in every field like Biju Sadaka Yojana, Biju Pakka Ghara yojana, Biju Gram Jyoti Yojana, Biju Patnaik International Airport, Biju Patnaik Park. I think Odias could able to find one man who is a Prabada Purusha (legendary), rest all are Bibada Purusha (Controversial),” said Das in a Press release. He apprehended that after a few days the Government would name toilets, State Secretariat and Governor House even after Biju Patnaik.
