Kaduabandi villagers and officials of the Sukinda Forest Range in Jajpur district rescued a wild boar that had accidentally fallen into a well on Monday morning.
Sukinda forest officer D Khuntia said, “The wild boar had strayed from the surrounding hillocks into the
agricultural fields and slipped into the unguarded field well of Bandhua Nayak.” Hearing the growling of the animal, Nayak informed the local forest office about the incident.
A team of forest officials and fire brigade men lowered down a cage to rescue the boar. Their efforts bore fruit in the evening. The boar was released into the nearest Ashokjhar forest, said the forest officer.
