The Industrial police arrested and court forwarded in a murder case on Thursday. The accused was identified as Umesh Singh (40) of village Srikrishnapur.
Police arrested him in connection with an FIR lodged by daughter of the deceased Sibani Singh, a 36 years old widow, accusing Singh to be the murderer. Sibani was found hanging from a tree branch in the backyard of her house under mysterious circumstances on Wednesday morning. The accused, however, denied his involvement in the crime. According to reports, the accused was having illicit affairs with the deceased after death of her husband.There was altercations between them on Tuesday night when the accused went to the house of the deceased in an inebriated state.
The accused although agreed that quarrel erupted between them over some issues yet he refuted the allegation of murdering her.The police on the other hand said that the report of postmortem of the deceased was awaited. And further action would be taken after receipt of the autopsy report, the police added.
