Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Srikant Jena on Tuesday raised a series of questions seeking clarifications from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his achievement in last two years in the wake of his visit to Baleswar.

Addressing a Press conference here at the Congress Bhawan, Jena, taking a dig at Modi, said he had written a letter in Odia to the Prime Minister, seeking clarifications on why AIIMS centre at Baleswar was delayed. He said that the UPA Government had granted the AIIMS Centre at Baleswar. Besides, he asked when the second Central School would be opened at Baleswar.

He also questioned on the sluggish CBI probe into chit fund scam, Mandakin Coal Mine reverse tender issue, no action on mines mafia as per Shah Commission report and shutdown of the ESIC medical college at Bhubaneswar. Jena sought to know who is financing Modi’s rallies involving massive expenditure and why Modi is silent on the issue of black money. “This Prime Minister is doing nothing except talks. He has nothing to show in terms of work,” Jena said. On the contrary, Jena said during the UPA Government, a host of projects were sanctioned for Odisha like AIIMS at Bhubaneswar, four medical colleges at Baleswar, Baripada, Bolangir and Koraput, IIT and NISER at Bhubaneswar, Central University at Koraput, Paradeep refinery, modernisation of Rourkella Steel Plant, CIPET, Soft Technology Park, NOCCI in Baleswar, rail over bridge at Soro and Tamolia and modernization of the Baleswar railway station.
