As the vaccination process in the district has been severely affected due to inadequate stock of vaccines, it would be unwise to celebrate the ‘Tika Utsav’ from April 11 to 14, reacted senior citizens who visited the vaccine center at the District Headquarters Hospital to get Covid vaccine.
Many people told this correspondent that strangely, they found no one at the Covid vaccination centre except one police man and a sticker in wall which says that vaccination process will remain closed for April 11 and 12.
Even no one was present in the administrative building of the DHH. When contacted, Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Dr Sujata Rani Mishra said that vaccines would be available within six days.BJD MLA Sudhir Kumar Samal said that without verifying stock of Covid vaccines in vaccination centers, it was not wise to give a call for ‘Tika Utsav’.
Samal further added that the Modi Government who believes in Rastravada is exporting vaccines to other countries to acquire international image.
It is quit disheartening that the Modi Government is discriminating non-BJP ruled States. Former Minister and Congress leader Nabin Chandra Narayan Das blamed both the Central and State Governments for playing with the sentiments of people.
