Panic gripped Bhalumunda in Balangir district when a man was murdered in broad daylight on NH-59 on Wednesday. Police detained a youth for allegedly murdering the man, who was a welder mechanic in Bhalumunda under the Bangomunda police limits. The deceased was identified as Lalmohan Kaibarta (45) from Gondabahali village in Nuapada district.
Lalmohan was working at a fabrication shop owned by one Purna Meher. A few months back, he had quit Purna’s shop and started working in another shop.On Wednesday, when Lalmohan came face-to-face with Purna, they had arguments. Purna pulled out a sharp weapon and stabbed Lalmohan, who died on the spot.
