As tourists visiting Panchalingeswar find difficulties in locating the road route from Nilgiri town to the shrine, situated in a hill ridge, local MP RK Jena has demanded that the Tourism and Culture Department establish two attractive welcome gates, one at Nilgiri and another near the Panchalingeswar temple.
“These gates, which will act as land mark gates, will not only facilitate the tourists and pilgrims to find the route to the shrine but also enhance prominence of the spot,” the MP pointed out.
Pilgrims and tourists, both from the State and outside throng the spot surrounded by springs and waterfalls round the year for worshipping as well as picnicking, Jena added.
The MP demanded erection of the two gates with an estimated cost of Rs 30 lakh, each. Tourism Minister Ashok Panda approved the project to be implemented this year.
