In the lead up to the weightlifting nationals, Pro Sport Development organised a day-long ‘Effective Nutrition and Anti-Doping’ seminar as part of their Khel Vikas project at Gram Vikas head office at Mohuda here on Sunday, said Pro Sport Development director Suheil Tandon.

“The main aim of the event is to equip participating weightlifters with useful knowledge and information relating to effective nutrition and anti-doping in their sport,” he added. The trainers at Pro Sport Development, all of whom have sports degrees and are trained anti-doping advisors from the UK, provided an insightful look at the ways athletes and children can improve their health through simple yet effective nutrition, besides imparting knowledge on the implications of doping in sports and how it affects the long term health of athletes, sources said.
