For their unusual style of marriage, a couple has shot into limelight here.
They had no priest, no hymns, no auspicious time or extravagant celebrations.
Identified as Biplab and Anita, the duo took vow of marriage by keeping the Indian Constitution by their side on Sunday.
For their family members, relatives and guests, it was a low key event.
To mark the occasion, they also held a blood donation camp.
“I am a rationalist and do not believe in age-old religious practices.”
“We kept it simple and got the marriage solemnized in a unique way,” said Biplab’s father Mohan Rao.
Including the newly-wed couple, the invitees also participated in the voluntary blood donation where as many as 36 units were collected.
Biplab (31) works for a pharmaceutical firm and Anita (23) is engaged as an auxiliary nurse midwife (ANM).
“We are happy the way marriage has been solemnized. It would be memorable for us,” the couple expressed.
Earlier on January 26 this year, a similar sort of marriage was held in the southern Odisha town.
Engineer Prithwik Misha and Political Science lecturer Mandakini Panda got married at the Saheed Laxman Nayak Community Hall with the Constitution of India as their witness.
