The Bharatiya Sikshya Bikasha Sansthana, Odisha unit, conducted a webinar here on Sunday to discuss the myriad problems of schools which are under its jurisdiction. More than 100 members, office bearers and teachers across the State participated in the virtual zoom meeting and gave their views on diverse issues of the schools including the impact of the ongoing pandemic.
They suggested measures to resolve the same. While Sansthan founder Maha Mandaleswar Mahanta Kamalakanta Das coordinated, Kriya Yogi Srijukta Swami Shankarananda Giri Maharaj graced the event and blessed the members. Former Deputy Speaker of Odisha Assembly and advisor of Odisha Agri Marketing Board Rama Chandra Panda recounted the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic and its catastrophic impact on the society in general and on education sector in particular.
Former MLA of Brahmapur Dr Ramesh Chandra Chyau Pattnaik assured the members to faithfully bring to the notice of the State Government the genuine problems of the schools under the Sansthana. Notably, most of the schools of the Sansthana are currently facing a serious fiscal crisis since most of the parents do not pay the monthly school fees of their children due to ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, thereby making it difficult for the Sansthana to manage the schools.
The speakers urged the Government to engage or appoint trained teachers (Acharyas) of Sishu Mandir on full time basis, exempt the managing committee of these schools from Government NOC, supply prescribed text books on concessional basis and bring a circular not to admit any student of Sishu Mandir in Government schools without TC.
Sansthan president Padmanabha Panda requested former MLA Pattnaik to bring these serious and genuine problems to the notice of the Government, Ganjam Collector, and respective district education authorities. Prakash Bisoyi offered a vote of thanks.
