As the amended Motor Vehicles Act was enforced again in the State since Sunday, Commissionerate police officials checked vehicles and fined traffic rule violators at different squares in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
During a checking in Cuttack, police caught a woman who was riding her two-wheeler without wearing helmet. When the police imposed fine on her, she reacted sharply, advancing strange arguments.
“I will not wear helmet and there is not anything new today. I am driving without helmet at my own risk and police have nothing to do it. If I die, it is a loss to my family members and police have nothing to do with it,” argued the woman.
