The Central Intelligence wing of the Excise Department on Monday arrested a man and seized 50 grams of brown sugar worth `10 lakh at the Haladipadia slum in Jharpada here.
Acting on a tipoff, a team of Central Intelligence officials raided the house of Mustaq Ahmed, hailing from Midnapore of West Bengal in Haldipadia slum and seized the contraband from his possession. The officials also seized some cash and a mobile phone from his possession.
Mustaq allegedly brought the contraband from his own locality in West Bengal and used to sell it in small packets in Bhubaneswar at a price of `220 per packet, sources said.
Notably, Mustaq had been arrested earlier on similar charges by the Commissionerate Police.
