The R Udaygiri police in Gajapati district on Wednesday arrested most wanted criminal Suranga Raita, who was involved in the 2006 Maoist attack in R Udaygiri, after 10 years of the incident.
The police also forwarded him to the JMFC Court. Raita had been hiding himself in various places over the 10 years. Newly-joined R Udaygiri police station officer PK Panda has intensified the drive to catch notorious criminals. The police got a huge success by arresting Suranga Raita in a tricky manner. Raita was involved in five cases. He was allegedly involved in the police station arson case, jail ransacking case and attack on contractors, etc.
