BJP activists on Thursday staged a dharna at the PHD office here in protest against severe water scarcity in all Wards of the city.
The party workers locked the PHD main gate for while too. They alleged that the PHD authorities have remained unmoved despite many complaints lodged before them. They shouted anti-Government slogans while sitting on the dharna.
Party’s State executive member Subashini Patnaik, Rama Samal, Pravat Sarangi, Siva Adhikari, lawyer Sisir Padhy and Deepak Samal participated. As per allegations, people of Gajapati Nagar, Ajodhya Nagar, Rama Nagar and Gandi Nagar have been facing water scarcity for long even as the PHD claims that it is supplying water to all parts of the city.
