War for Steel, a documentary based on the conflict, confusion and apprehensions over the Posco project in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district has been selected for the international Green Unplugged Film Festival 2015. In a letter to director-producer of the documentary Basudev Mahapatra, the festival organisers have confirmed the selection for screening at the online film festival saying, “We are writing to inform you that the festival team has reviewed the film and finds it to be very much aligned with the theme and mission of the festival. Along with you, we are delighted to be able to share it with the viewers who arrive at the online festival venue.” The online film festival is part of the mission of Culture Unplugged, which is guided by a socio-spiritual mission that aspires to raise collective consciousness by gathering global citizens at a venue of this kind. The audience of the festival consists not only of professors, students, activists, journalists, anthropologists and people from many other diverse fields but also filmmakers and producers. Since the launch of the first online film festival in 2008, the Culture Unplugged Festivals have been visited by more than 64 million people from over 39,000 cities across 231 countries and territories.
