Waqf Board mgmt now under SC, ST Dept

The management of the Odisha Wakf Board, Survey Commission, Wakf, Wakf Tribunal and State Haj Committee has now come under the State SC and ST Development, Minorities and Backward Classes Welfare Department. Notably, these bodies had been functioning under the law Department for many years. The new decision was taken with a view to ensuring an overall development of minority section of the society.

Though there is a separate department for development of minorities, the decision was essential for its coordinated management. Necessary arrangements at administrative level are being undertaken for its smooth management, said a Information and Public Relations Department release on Tuesday.
