As many as 28 social and people’s organisations including the Odisha Durneeti Sangharsa Manch (ODSM) staged a demonstration in front of the State Assembly here on Monday demanding a CBI probe into the Sarathi Baba scandal.
Representatives of the organisations came in a procession from Master Canteen to lower PMG and staged the rally also demanding dismissal and arrest of former Kendrapada SP Satish Gajbhiye, who had brutally attacked public near the Sarathi Ashram in Kendrapada. The representatives also demanded unconditional release of social activist Mamata Samantaray, who was arrested by the Kendrapada police on August 6 for staging a dharna in front of the Sarathi Ashram.
ODSM president Umacharan Mishra said his Manch strongly condemns police atrocities on public at Kendrapada. “We demand Gajbhiye’s removal from service as punishment for brutal attack on public. We also demand action against officials, politicians and Sarathi’s courtesans after investigating the matter by the CBI,” he added.
