In a tragic incident, two minor girls were killed and their mother sustained critical injuries after a wall of their house collapsed on them while they were asleep in the Malgodown area under the Uditnagar police limits here late on Friday night.
The deceased were identified as Sujata (7) and Soumya (5). When the mud wall of the house caved in, the mother managed to come out and screamed for help, following which neighbourers rushed to the spot to rescue the two children. But the girls had died by the time they were taken out of the debris.
The injured mother was taken to a hospital.
