The news of alleged sexual harassment against the undersigned in your esteemed newspaper The Pioneer of 11.04.2015 has come like a bolt from the blue to me and to the members of my family. (Editor’s note: Such allegations have appeared in many other papers and were aired by TV channels too.) I am a teacher by every inch and am quite well aware of my position in the society. I have always been enjoying a respectful and loving relationship with my students for the last thirteen years, Nowhere and at no point of time such allegations of immoral conduct have been pointed at me.
The allegations that I carry young students in my vehicle to lonely places and star hotels for perpetrating a heinous sexual abuse against them are only the invention of certain delirious minds who are out and out against my increasing popularity among the student community. Malicious persons with their diseased mindsets have tried to malign my image of an ideal teacher since the students are quite enamoured and full of praise towards my unique and inimitable style of teaching the intricate subject of chemistry in utter simplicity and lucidity. Unable to bear the sight of a rose in the garden, these people like to notice cankers in the hedges, and no wonder they have any hesitation in pouring calumny upon the personality of a lovable teacher through mischievous and malicious lies. I am a married person having a healthy married life and father of two kids and have no such abnormalities and erosion of mental capacity to stoop to such low levels.
I believe in the saying of a famous Greek philosopher and teacher Plato who once remarked that one word of truth outweighs the whole world. When the committee formed by Honourable Vice-Chancellor, OUAT, in their collective wisdom would arrive at the truth, all the fogs created by a confused media will certainly vanish before the truth of the rising sun, but I would like to submit before you that the esteemed print and electronic media should investigate into the matter by listening to both sides and not be prevailed over by hearing from one side only.
Yours sincerely,
Professor, OUAT
