Chief Justice of Orissa High Court DH Waghela has been transferred as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. A communiqué to this effect from Union law Ministry reached here on Wednesday. It is yet to be known who would be the next Orissa High Court Chief Justice.
According to sources in the High Court Registry here, Justice Waghela is likely to assume new charge on or before February 16.
Reports said the Supreme Court Collegium last month had recommended the transfer of Justice Waghela along with appointment of six other Chief Justices of different High Courts in its first set of suggestions after scrapping of the National Judicial Appointments Commission Act by the apex court in October last.
