The Vyasanagar Municipality has taken various developmental works this year, claimed Chairperson Sabita Rout on Friday.

The municipality has restored 3.3 acres of land inside the town area, the present value of which would be more than Rs 25 crore, she said.

The same land had been purchased way back in 1997 but it was not in the possession of the municipality as registration fee had been paid then at an undervalued rate, she said.

“Now, the municipality bus-stand is running on this land. We will soon construct a Kalyan Mandap at an estimated expense of Rs 75 lakh, a market complex and a fortune tower on the land, she said.

Rout further claimed that the municipality has constucted 700 houses for slum dwellers against the target of 1961. Similarly, many roads and drains have been renovated.

She said a Children Park would be constructed near the Indira Gandhi Women’s College in Santara Mouza for which the Government has already sanctioned Rs 20 lakhs. Besides, the Vyasanagar town hall would be renovated with air conditioner facilities by the Tata company, she informed.
