The vehicular under pass (VUP), constructed near Vani Vihar to connect VSS Nagar with the city, has not been made functional due to obstructions being created for laying of drinking water pipelines from the railway over-bridge to Rasulgarh and would be functional after shifting of the pipelines.
Works and Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJD MlA Priyadarshi Mishra.
The Minister stated that he supplied the information quoting reports of the National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI). He said the NHAI Concessionaire in consultation with the Railways and the Public Health Engineering Organisation (PHEO) has taken initiatives to shift the pipelines and and, once they are shifted, the VUP would be made functional in 3 months’ time, he Minister mentioned.
