VSS Nagar residents demand basic necessities

Hundreds of residents of VSS Nagar here under the banner of the Veera Surendra Sai Nagar Unnayan Parishad on Wednesday staged a rally near the statue of Surendra Sai demanding fulfilment of the basic necessities in the area.

The rally led by Parishad president Hrudayram Brahma and coordinator Dillip Dashsharma demanded setting up of a regional health centre, a police outpost, a common service centre, a railway over bridge from VSS Nagar to near IDCO Colony and construction of a road between VSS Nagar and laxmi Vihar.

Even after 35 years of its establishment, the colony is still deprived of various basic necessities, said eminent persons of the locality. They alleged that though the Chief Minister had once assured them of establishing a health centre in the locality, nothing has been done in this regard as yet. Even the local MlA and Corporator and the Mayor had assured the locals of solving the various issues, but no steps in this respect have been taken till date, they lamented.
