In view of the Government announcing to make the Utkal University campus encroachment-free, the VSS Nagar Unnayan Parishad has demanded the proposed VSS Nagar-laxmi Vihar road be constructed soon.
“Due to lack of a road, VSS Nagar residents use Utkal University campus to go to various parts of Bhubaneswar city. The Government should construct the planned VSS Nagar-laxmi Vihar road before closing the road in the university campus,” demanded the Parishad.
A team of Parishad comprising vice-president Er Shiva Prasad Mishra, general secretary Dillip Dashsharma, treasurer Maheshwar Biswal and Sital Chandra Mohanty submitted a memorandum to local MlA Priyadarshi Mishra and BMC Mayor Anant Narayan Jena in this regard.
They too sent the memorandum to the Chief Secretary through email.
They threatened to stage a mass movement if the demand is not met.
