The process of annual revision of the voters’ list for additions, changes and corrections has begun here.
Brahmapur Sub-Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan informed this at Press conference here on Friday. He said the first draft revision of electoral roll would be ready within a month’s time.
He urged upon all voters to apply for changes, additions or revisions, if any required in electoral roll at their respective booths. Kalyan said the entire revision of voters’ list would be done under directions and supervision of the Election Commissioner to make the list clean and error-free.
He said priority is being given to check duplication of names figured in the voters’ list. The CDMOs, ADMOs, Health Officers and other block-level officers would be requested to identify and report on bogus voters and those who have already died for updating, he said.
The Sub-Collector requested all political parties to appoint their respective agents at booth level to check anomalies or discrepancies if any in the existing voters’ list and assist the administration to make the revised list perfect.
According to the Schedule, the draft copy of electoral rolls will be published on September 15 (Tuesday) and the final copy would be published on January 11, 2016 (Monday). Voters can file their claims and objections, if any, between September 15 and October 14.
