A voting awareness campaign was organised by NGOs Youth for Social Development, ANURA, ISARA and GPSS in Brahmapur on May 11 to apprise electors of the power and value of the votes.

"The turnout of voters is decreasing in every election, which is a big cause for concern. Through this campaign we are trying to tell people about the value and power of voting right,” said Youth for Social Development Program coordinator Chandan Kumar Sahu.

He further said, “We also urged voters from all walks of life to cast their votes on May 13. Through the campaign, we aim to demystify the electoral process and empower citizens to exercise their democratic right with confidence. Every vote matters and by participating actively, citizens can shape the future of our nation."

The volunteers sensitized the citizens to confirm the voter's name in the voter list, identify their polling station, polling time, required documents while going to the booth, how to cast their vote on EVM and how to encourage their family, friends and colleagues to vote.

From Youth for Social Development Programme coordinator Sahu, project coordinator Biplab Kumar Behera, block coordinator Biplab Kumar Behera, Geetanjali Panigrahi, Sudip Kumar Chakraborty, Mamali Panda, Alok Kumar Nayak , Arghyarupa Nayak and Mahima Pradhan led the programme.
