Stating that the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi can give a stable and corruption-free Government at the Centre, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Thursday said Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik cannot fulfil the aspirations of the people of the State at the Centre even if his BJD is given votes for Parliament seats.
“I want the people of Odisha to play a pivotal role in making Modi the Prime Minister. He can bring black money back and increase mineral royalty, a demand that the Odisha Government has been making all along,” said Ramdev at a Press conference here.
Ramdev also predicted that Patnaik may be an ally of the NDA after the elections. “Since Naveen is yet to decide on his move on formation of the Government at the Centre, people should not be confused. The BJD may be an NDA partner after the elections,” he said.
Even though Ramdev raked up the multi-crore mining scam issue, he refrained from blaming the BJD Government despite the fact that the Shah Commission has recommended a CBI probe into the role of the Government in facilitating the loot of minerals from the State.
Ramdev did not give a definite answer when asked whether the mining scam should be handed over to the CBI or not. “After Modi comes to power, we will conduct inquiry into every scam. We will also start the process to bring black money within 100 days of coming to power,” said Ramdev.He also lashed out at the Congress and its president Sonia Gandhi branding her as “looter Bahu” of the country.
