Four days after a no-confidence motion against her was rejected, Vyasanagar Municipality Chairperson Sabita Rout went on a three-month leave on health grounds from Wednesday.
Rout has written letters to Jajour district Collector Ranjan Kumar Das, Korei MlA Akash DasNayak and civic body Vice-Chairman Subas Bal about her absence from office for a period of three months.
She would be on leave till April 23, and the Vice-Chairman would be in charge of the municipality during this period.
Notably, the no-trust motion against Rout failed on January 21 as no Councillor turned up for voting. A total of 13 BJD Councillors had moved the motion in December last.
This was the second time a no-confidence motion was brought against her in a span of four months. On December 28 last, Sabita Rout was suspended from the BJD on charges of anti-party activities.
