Surendra Singh, VlW-cum-Panchayat Executive Officer, Ratanpur GP under Tangarpalli block in Sundargarh district, was arrested by the Vigilance police for taking bribe of Rs 2,000 on Thursday.

He was caught red-handed by Vigilance officers in front of Axis Bank, Sundargarh while demanding and accepting the bribe from one labanidhar Chita for further construction of an Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) house which was to the latter sanctioned under IAY scheme.
