An attendant of a patient at the VIMSAR in Burla was murdered on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Lambodar Nayak of Chhatabara village under the Mahulpali police station in the district.
Lambodar’s father Kapila was admitted to the Burla MCH a few days back. Since then, he had been attending to his father.
In the morning, Lambodar had gone to the Goudapali canal for taking bath when miscreants attacked him.
Getting information, Mahulpali police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident. Though the motive of the murder was yet to be ascertained, police suspected that the miscreants might have killed Lambodar while trying to snatch money from him.
“A forensic team and a sniffer dog have been pressed into action. We are hopeful of nabbing the criminals soon,” police said.
