With a slew of demands, the villagers of Anantapur have launched a dharna before the Tata Steel Alloys Company main gate here since March 3.
The demands include lifting of forged cases filed by the company authority against some innocent villagers, construction of playground for children, establishment of modern crematory near the village, completion of the construction work of the community hall at the village, provision of safe drinking water through pipelines to all families, renovation of roads damaged due to passing of heavy vehicles to the plant and stopping of water supply to Bhubaneswar Power Plant from the company which lifts water from Mahanadi and other rivers.
On being contacted, company HR Susant Jena declined to disclose any truth. However, political touts role and company’s deceiving policy has made the villagers deprived of getting their due justice.
