Residents of Pardhiapali village in Balangir district on Friday protested at the lower Suktel Irrigation Project dam site demanding implementation of the land Acquisition Act of 2013 for them.
As a result of this, work on the project has stopped. District Collector Arindam Dakua along with project officials and police visited the dam site and held talks with the agitated villagers. He also visited the local school and villages and observed the miserable conditions of the houses.
The Collector assured the villagers to solve their problems soon.
