According to local BJP leader Sudipta Ray, the villagers including women demolished the boundary wall put up on the 100-acre land grabbed by some ruling BJD leaders and bureaucrats. They also dug up the approach road, which is perceived to have been constructed by the Panchayati Raj Department under the MGNREGS.

local Zilla Parishad member Daktar Behera said the road was constructed on the encroached land belonging to the parbat kisam (hill type), which should be returned to the villagers.
