The residents of village Ankuli on the outskirts of Brahmapur, have extended their helping hand for treatment of a poor student, Narayan Rout, who sustained severe head injury owing to an accident on May 4.
Narayan, son of Subash Rout, a resident of Ankulli, on his way to home on a bicycle, lost his balance due to strong wind and collided with a Tata AC four-wheeler. He was taken to MKCG Medical College Hospital in critical condition. When his condition started deteriorating, he was shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack, reportedly on the advice of the local doctors, where he was treated in the surgery ward for about a week.
When his condition did not show any sign of
improvement and rather deteriorated further, Ankuli villagers, on the advice of some doctors, wanted to shift him to a hospital in Visakhapatnam. The villagers contributed the required fund and got Narayan admitted at a Visakhapatnam-based hospital, where he is reportedly still in coma.
According to information, the doctors would start appropriate treatment only after scanning of the head of the student. The villagers have appealed to the public and the Government to extend their helping hands to save the boy, who is from an extremely poor family. The denizens of Brahmapur have hailed the humanitarian efforts of the villagers.
