The Cuttack district administration declared Nuasahi village under Patasundarpur panchayat in the Niali area of the district as a containment zone for 10 days starting on Saturday.
The decision was taken after 15 people of the village tested positive for Covid-19 and one of them succumbed to the virus.
As per the order, all vehicular and public movements to and from the containment zone would be restricted during the period. The inhabitants of the area were strictly asked to remain indoors. Besides, commercial establishments were asked to close their shutters.
The district administration would make arrangements for supply of medicines and essential items to the residents at their doorsteps.
