Vijay Risi has taken over charge as new Central GST Commissioner of the Rourkela CGST Commissionerate here on Monday. He replaced Satyendra Kumar Singh who was transferred to Ranchi as Principal Commissioner.
At a special programme, officers and staffs of the Rourkela CGST Commissionerate bid farewell to the outgoing Principal Commissioner and welcomed the new Commissioner.
The Rourkela CGST Commissionerate, which was established in October 2014, works for 12 districts. Singh had joined as the first Commissioner.
During Singh’s tenure, the commissionerate had secured the first prize for performance in all India level during 2017-18 fiscal. Singh credited all officers and staffs for the achievement. However, Singh expressed unhappiness that the commissionerate was yet to get a Government land for which office is still running in a hired building. He hoped that the officers would perform better with proper infrastructure facilities when the commissionerate would have its own building.
The new Commissioner Vijay Risi assured the officers and staff of all cooperation from his side for overall development of the Rourkela Commissionerate.
