The Vigilance department registered a case against former BDO of Gaisilat block in Bargarh district Braja Kishore Nayak and former ABDO-cum-accounts officer Dilip Kumar Pradhan, besides executants Bhuban Behera, Byasadeb Behera, Sanjib Bhoi, Premika Sahu, Yubraj Behera, Rajendra Kumar Agrawal and Arabinda Chandra Pada among others on charges of corruption under Individual House Hold latrine (IHHl) scheme.
Nayak and Pradhan by abusing their official position showed undue official favour to the executants in implementation of the project under IHHl which were constructed for the use of BPl category people of Gaisilat Block. The duo knowingly allowed false bills and forged documents produced by the executants in the name of the beneficiaries in which signatures were forged without executing the works. These officials gave payment of Rs11, 87, 200 to the executants causing loss to the Government for no work.
