Vigilance officials on Tuesday raided several Government offices in the district as part of their probe into the allegations of undue favours extended by Government officials to notorious gangster Tito.
The raids were carried out at the Kendrapada, Derabish and Mahakalpada tehsil offices. The Kendrapada Municipality office in the town was also raided.
According to sources, a six-member anti-corruption agency team that conducted the raids seized a few incriminating documents dated back to 2015 and related to the gangster’s business deals and his nexus with the then officials.
The team also raided Tito’s petrol pump situated on the Kendrapada bypass.
An Amin and a Revenue Inspector who accompanied the team measured the area to find out any encroachments by Tito for setting up of the fuel outlet, which is registered in the name of the gangster’s wife.
Earlier, the Vigilance officials had raided the RTO offices in Kendrapada, Cuttack and Chandikhol.
The raids are being carried out after the Special Task Force of the Crime Branch asked the Vigilance to probe the alleged connivance between gangster Tito and Government officials.
