: A workshop of investigators and prosecutors of the Odisha Vigilance on “Strengthening investigation and prosecution of trap cases” was conducted in hybrid mode at the State Vigilance Academy here on Saturday.
The conference was inaugurated by Chairman, Odisha Staff Selection Commission Abhay. Director Vigilance YK Jethwa was guest of honour.
Abhay urged the officers to closely monitor trap investigations and trials to ensure successful prosecution and conviction.
Jethwa stated that the Odisha Vigilance’s “Trap Month" that began in April would be extended in May to take forward the gains.
On the occasion, an E-Book on “Strengthening Investigation and Prosecution of Trap Case" was circulated among the investigating officers to bolster the standard and quality of investigation of trap cases.
Apart from the resource persons of Vigilance organisation, forensic science experts on voice testing and chemical analysis made presentations on scientific methods of investigation.
During the workshop, various strategies were discussed to ensure fool proof investigation and prosecution of trap cases for implementing in coming days. All senior officers of Vigilance organisation attended.
