The Odisha Rajya Vidyut Karmachari Sangh has put off its proposed mass dharna against the Southco here following the latter’s assurances. The Sangh announced this after a meeting held between its representatives and the Southco authorities on Saturday. They discussed threadbare all the demands raised by the Sangh in a memorandum on February 7.
The employees’ demands include regularisation of all NMR employees, appointment of ‘ladder Men’ replacing Helper posts, release of all outstanding dues, recruitment of trained electricians at newly-created electrical sub-stations, appointment and promotion of qualified staffs in the executive cadre, provision of more incentives for staffs working in Maoist-hit areas and provision of retirement benefits.
The company assured us to sympathetically consider the demands and hence we have decided to postpone the proposed mass dharna,” said sangh leader T Appa Rao. On behalf of the Southco, MD BB Sharma, DGM (Human Resources) Harekrushna Sahu and Chief of Finance BN Mallik and, on behalf of the sangh, working president Deenabandhu Mohanty and general secretary Akshya Kumar Tripathy participated in the discussion.
