Videoconferencing system planned in AG office

The State Government would set up a videoconferencing system at the Advocate-General’s office in Cuttack, informed law Minister Arun Kumar Sahoo on Friday. He said the Government has started the process for installation of the system at a cost of around Rs 30 lakh. The Information and Technology Department would carry out the project.

Notably, thousands of Government-related cases are pending in the High Court for which Government officials from different parts of the State come to the AG office. After installation of the system, the Government officials could consult with the AG from their district headquarters through videoconferencing at the NIC centre. Even the bureaucrats can discuss legal matters with the AG from the State Secretariat through the system, official sources said. The Minister said the system would save time and money.
