Victim's father deposes before police in city

The father of the casting couch victim minor girl on Friday deposed at the Mahila police station here after his “controversial, contradictory” media statements that the sexual harassment case involving her daughter and Ollywood actor Tattwa Prakash Satpathy aka Papu Pompom has been settled amicably.

The police had served a notice to the father after he recently alleged before a TV channel that the girl recently produced in the court is not his daughter. This had raised question marks over the police’s competence and action.

Interestingly, his wife (the victim’s mother), who used to support the police and the Khorda Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in the investigation process earlier, also supported her husband’s version and said her daughter never recorded any statement under Section-164 of CrPC.

While both the parents have been denying that the girl has given any statement before anyone apart from lodging a police complaint and changing statements, the Friends Foundation Trust has lodged an FIR at the Mahila police demanding to bring the parents of the girl under the purview of the investigation.

The trust on behalf of the minor girl had also lodged an FIR at the Mahila police station leading to the arrest of Papu Pompom and his aide Pradip Swain.
