Ghana-based NRI Neeraj Chandan, who was robbed of cash and other valuables at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here on Tuesday, sought intervention of Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the matter on Wednesday.
In a Tweet, Neeraj sought intervention of the Union Minister and the Chief Minister in tracing his passports, money and other valuables which were robbed at the airport. He also stated that he had come to visit the Puri Jagannath Temple with his family for the first time when the incident took place.
The NRI also Tweeted to State DGP RP Sharma requesting him to file a complaint and help in finding his stolen items. He sought the DGP’s help for travelling back to Ghana. Neeraj and his family were robbed of 3000 US Dollars, mobile phones, a non-citizen card and nine passports.
Though the Airfield police are investigating into the incident, they are still clueless about the miscreants.
