The PG Department of Sociology and Department of Anthropology of Vikram Deb Autonomous College (VDAC) organised a national webinar on July 27 on “The Impact of Covid-19 on Tribal Livelihood."
Dr Sagarika Mishra, convener of the webinar, introduced the delegates and delivered the welcome address. The symposium was presided over by VDAC Principal Dr Gopal Halder.
In course of his presidential address, key issues related to Covid-19 and tribal livelihood were discussed and the panelists included a range of eminent speakers from various corners of India engaged in teaching, research and administration. Former Director of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI), Bhubaneswar, Prof Premananda Panda, Dr Nilakantha Panigrahi from Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyala, and Dr Aditya Keshari Mishra and Dr BK Srinivas from the Central University of Odisha, Koraput, joined the discussion.
Around 270 participants that include faculty members, researchers and students from different parts of the country participated.
